What is the ÖMCCV?

The ÖMCCV (Austrian Crohn’s Colitis Association) is a self-initiative for people affected with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).

We are a non-profit association who aims to raise and advance public understanding of the problems faced by IBD sufferers.

We aim to alleviate the fate of Crohn’s and Colitis patients, to promote self-help and to bring a greater quality of life for each individual.

In addition to medical support, we believe that it is important to bring IDB-patients together to socialise and help each other to overcome and resolve common issues in their private and social lives.

Last but not least, contact with other IBD-patients helps to prevent social isolation, allows them to speak openly about their experiences, and helps to minimise concerns and fears.

How we help:

Information

We provide information on the course and effects of the disease, host lectures by specialists and host seminars for doctors and patients and with our magazine "Crohnicle".

Help & Guidance

We offer telephone help and/or counselling for sufferers of inflammatory bowel diseases and offer help and advice in regards to social and workplace related issues.

Events

We host events and meet-ups throughout the year and put a focus on public relations work.

Research

We support research through our research grants and share new relevant research conducted in the fields of medicine, labour and social rights.

Branches

We have branches in every county offering local meet-ups and seminars.
